Belgian d'Anvers

Bantam Belgian Bearded D'anver:

D'anvers are amazing little birds, walking around like tiny soldiers, they are funny and busy birds. The color we have the most of is cuckoo currently but we also have white, black and self-blue. Genetically, Belgian Bearded D'anvers are close to Belgian Bearded D'uccles.

More information on this amazing breed can be found on the Belgian Bearded D'anver club website at:

Colors we are currently working on:

Buff, we were very privileged to get a breeding trio from MrDon Hartman in Spring of 2023 and a trio from Todd Herren  in fall 2023. While we work toward our own line of Buffs in d'Anvers, we will also be using them to start a few buff d'Uccle lines.

Mille Fleur: Also from Todd Herren in Fall 2023, we are thrilled to have his line shared with us to work towards our own lines.

Chocolate: chocolate is a color that we will be working towards but will take time. We will be working on a chocolate line of Ameraucana and Watermaals at the same time.

Quail: We are currently learning about the quail genes, and look forward to helping with the blue quail variety.

Black cuckoo: our own creation. We love anything cuckoo, it's such an interesting pattern.

Self blue AKA Lavender Cuckoo:  2 pens currently, one for lavender cuckoo and one that has a lavender cuckoo male over watermaal hens to make lavender cuckoo watermaals.

Porcelain In April 2024 we acquired porcelain d'Anvers and are working on their type.

We are always happy to share our projects with those who would like to take on a project and collaborate. A breed project can jump ahead much faster when more people are working toward a common goal than one single person.

*Original breeder birds:  We got our original Cuckoo Self-Blue Breeder males hatched by a local breeder who asked not to be named, no information on original Breeder. Females hatched by us, no Original breeder information given. Black Cuckoo crossed by us from 2 lines. No Breeder information given. White, Black and Self Blue solid from shipped Eggs no Breeder information given when asked.

Below are pictures of birds from our current breeding groups.
